photoshop website design and tutorials

Website design layout on Photoshop CS6

I have created a design on Photoshop of what I would like my website to look like, the theme for my white will mostly be black and white images on the homepage however the photography images will be colour. I have done a basic layout so that there is less going on and so that it is easy to navigate.

Logos:
To experiment with my layout and website, I have been creating different types of logos and expanding with the development by changing the colours and sizes. With this logo, I would use it to display the name of the company at the corner of the home page on the website.

The first logo I tried doing was my first attempt at using this effect, I like this effect because it stands out and it is very colourful. The only thing I dislike about this logo is that it may not fit or suit my layout.

I improved the logo by cropping the blank parts out because they were un-needed, I like this better because there is more room and smaller.

For this logo, I changed the font from my previous attempt and used a different colour, I do not like this logo because in my opinion, the black stands out to much from the actual image and doesn't fit the image properly.

With the background, I have followed a tutorial http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bqvNiT_Ap_E which I have created a rainbow background using the tools on Photoshop CS6. I like the outcome of the background however, it does not suit my style. The background I created could be used for a graphic design piece.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7e8Udy2FwpE This tutorial taught me to create a dark red logo which had a bright drop shadow to make it stand out, I like this logo because it makes the font 3D-ish however it looks quite boring. Here are screenshots of my experimenting while creating the tutorial:

Another tutorial which I followed was a Youtube Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7rlyv9Juk04 which showed how to create a smashed glass effect on text. This is my outcome:

For this design, I have used my photography work and used shapes to create these images, I like these images because they are colourful and basic. They also help the website stand out in the centre.  For the menu tool, I have used a basic version so that it will be easy to navigate. The only thing I don't like about this webpage is that there is a lot of room around the outside.

With these tutorials, I have learnt many techniques to do so that I can use them when I want to experiment - I have learnt how to create a vibrant neon logo in different styles, I have learnt how to create a glass smashing logo which looks almost 3D and I have also learnt how to cut images into different shapes. The only problems for some of these examples are that they do not suit the type that I want however experimenting means I can change and develop my ideas.
